Lee County treated to royal visit from Prince Albert

Lee County Board of County Commissioners Chairman and Tourist Development Chairman Frank Mann presents Prince Albert with a gift from Lee County.
Lee County and the Art of Olympians Museum and Gallery recently hosted His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco in recognition of the official grand opening celebration of the art gallery in the River District of Fort Myers. Local residents and business leaders were afforded the opportunity to paint an abstract piece of art with Prince Albert and attend a dinner with him in a fundraising effort for Art of the Olympians. His involvement also drew tremendous international exposure for The Beach of Fort Myers & Sanibel destination. During his stay, the VCB facilitated a news segment about Art of the Olympians, including an interview with Prince Albert, which aired March 7 on the Today Show with an audience of nearly 5 million viewers. Prince Albert, a five-time Olympian in the bobsled event, and a member of the International Olympic Committee, is a supporter of both arts and sports initiatives. Prince Albert’s mother, Princess Grace, was a 1954 Academy Award winning actress who is fondly remembered as one of the world’s most renowned arts patrons.
